This policy says what cookies are, which ones this site sets, what they are for, and how to switch them off.
The short version
This site sets two cookies, and both are for counting visits. We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and roughly how many people read them. There is no advertising, no remarketing, no social media pixel and no embedded third-party player - nothing you do here is used to follow you somewhere else or to sell you anything.
If your browser asks not to be tracked, we do not load the measurement at all. See "Your choice" below.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so it can recognise the same browser again later. Related technologies - local storage, session storage, tracking pixels, device fingerprinting - do the same job by other means, and everything below applies to all of them equally.
The cookies this site sets
_ga- set by Google Analytics. Holds a random number that tells one browser apart from another, so two visits from you are not counted as two people. Lasts 2 years from your last visit._ga_M965M44F7J- set by Google Analytics. Holds the state of the visit you are on: when it started, and whether it is still going. Lasts 2 years from your last visit.
Both are set on this domain by Google's script. Neither carries your name, your email address or anything you typed into a form, and neither is used to identify you personally.
What we actually see is the report Google builds out of them: which pages were read, how people arrived, roughly where in the world they were, phone or desktop. It is a picture of the audience, not of a person. We cannot pick you out of it and we do not try to.
Where it goes. The measurement data is processed by Google, as our analytics provider, on servers that include ones in the United States. Google's handling of it is governed by their own terms, and we have not turned on anything that joins it to advertising: no Google Ads link, no Google Signals, no remarketing audiences.
What this site does not use
- No advertising or remarketing. No ad network, no conversion pixel, no audience list. Nothing you do here follows you to another site.
- No social media trackers. The icons in the footer are plain links. They load nothing from the networks they point to.
- No third-party embeds. The video in the footer and the images throughout are served from this domain, and so are the typefaces - they are built into the site rather than fetched from a font service, so no request leaves for one.
- No local storage, no session storage, no fingerprinting.
- We do not sell or share any of it, and there is no cross-context behavioural advertising here to opt out of.
The contact form sets no cookie. What you type into it is sent to us and stored, which the Privacy Policy covers.
Your choice
Two browser signals turn the measurement off before it starts. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, this site does not load Google Analytics at all - no script, no cookies, nothing to delete afterwards. Nothing else about the site changes and nothing stops working.
- GPC is sent by Firefox and Brave, and by extensions such as DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials and Abine's. In Firefox it is under Settings → Privacy & Security → "Tell websites not to sell or share my data".
- Do Not Track is the older signal, under Privacy in the browsers that still offer it.
Beyond that, you can refuse these cookies the way you can refuse any:
- Block or delete them in your browser. Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them and refuse new ones; the settings sit under Privacy in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
- Use Google's own opt-out. Google publishes a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout that stops Google Analytics on every site, not just this one.
- A tracker blocker will stop it too, and most already do.
- Or just write to us at Hello@themoyastudio.net and ask. We will tell you what we hold and delete it.
Blocking any of this costs you nothing on this site. No page, form or feature here depends on being measured.
The studio's own sign-in
The studio signs in to a private admin area to manage this site. That sign-in sets a session cookie: it is what keeps someone signed in from one page to the next, and it ends with the session.
It is strictly necessary - without it the admin area cannot work at all. It carries no information about you, it is only ever set on the private sign-in pages, and it is never set for a visitor to the public site. Under the laws that require consent for cookies, a strictly necessary cookie of this kind is the category that does not need it.
The admin area is also not measured: Google Analytics runs on the public site only, so the studio's own clicks through the CMS are not in the numbers and nothing from a signed-in session reaches Google.
Server logs are not cookies
Our hosting provider keeps brief technical logs of requests - an IP address, a browser string, a page, a timestamp. That is how any server on the internet works, it is not done with cookies, and the Privacy Policy covers it.
Services you leave this site for
If you follow a link to book a call, or to one of our social profiles, you arrive at a service we do not run, and it will set its own cookies under its own policy. That happens on their domain after you have left ours. We have no part in it and no access to it.
If this changes
The day we add anything beyond the measurement described above - an advertising pixel, an embedded player, a booking widget running inside a page rather than on its own - this policy will say so before it goes live, and where consent is required we will ask for it first rather than assume it. The date at the top of this page is when it was last true.
